Construction

We take great pride in the construction of our "Patio Ponds".  The base is built using 1” and 1/2” exterior plywood and 1/2” cement board. Any areas that may be subjected to moisture have been painted with exterior black paint and exterior polyurethane.  The masonry is then applied to the base. The water space is constructed by gluing down the thick rubber liner, setting the waterfall basin and plumbing, the pump housing, the underwater light and conduit for the electrical lines. The pump is connected to the hose line by a union that aids in ease of replacement. The 10-watt underwater light is placed below the waterfall allowing enough cord to easily replace the bulb by bringing it above water level. The light itself is also easy to replace due to the conduit in place for the low-voltage line to pass through. Each stone is glued in place by hand. The final step is to apply “Wet Look” Lacquer by Glaze-N-Seal^® to the surface of the water feature stones and the base masonry.

Maintenance

Bender-Built Patio Ponds are actually built to last! We do not design out products with obsolescence as a goal. We want you to know your Patio Pond personally! It is indeed a one-of-a-kind. You will receive information of your Patio Pond’s “access  stones” that make it easy to get to the pump and other accessible areas. 

You will enjoy the ease of cleaning the filters and changing the water. Since your Patio Pond is mounted on heavy-duty locking wheels you can change the placement of your Patio Pond easily.

The beautiful stones we build your Patio Pond with are called “Plum Creek Cobble” from Montana. The wide spectrum of colors, shapes and textures cannot be duplicated. No two "Patio Ponds^" will be the same. You are not the owner of just a water feature. You own a one-of-a-kind handmade piece of art that provides relaxation to many of your senses. Lighting from within the pond changes the look dramatically after sundown. Your Patio Pond can be home to small fish and water plants as a natural eco-system. If you prefer to turn it off in your absence simply freshen the water now and then. Each one holds approximately 15 gallons of water.

• Not every home has room for a full-sized waterscape. Not every budget allows for the cost of new landscaping. Not everyone can dig a big hole in their backyard!
• Most homes have room for a Patio Pond! They measure just under 3’x 5’ and approximately 25” tall. Though built to enjoy outdoors,  a Patio Pond would enhance the appeal of entryways, family rooms or offices.
• They are affordable and economic to run. The 10-watt underwater light and submersible pump require only a 110 electrical outlet. If it is not a home to fish and plant life it can be turned off in your absence.
• You can even take it with you if you move! Since Patio Ponds are completely self-contained you don’t need to leave it behind. Each unit is portable!

They are heavy, and well-built... so you can move them around your level patio well enough and the wheels lock. However, we do deliver and set-up.
